Michelle “Mitch” Phillips moved from her native Minnesota to Phoenix in 2001 and established a modern interior design company.
Her passion for design and styling let her to opening a Vintage clothing store in 2013 called Rare Scarf Vintage, offering curated pieces from the 60s to the 80s. This led to styling for numerous fashion shoots which landed her work in hundreds of pages of editorial magazines both national and local publications.
She has styled runway fashion shows and was chosen as one of six top stylists for Phoenix Fashion week in 2017.
She has done set design and styled live model installations at the Phoenix Art Museum for openings with Karin Legatos Emphatics, Andy Warhol exhibit, and noted portrait painter Kehinde Wiley.
As an artist she has participated in the Phoenix Chaos Theory art show since 2014. Her art like all of her work, draws on her unique eye and boundary pushing style.
In 2019 she styled actor Mitchell Hoog for the Toronto film festival where his outfits landed him on 2 national best dressed lists.
Whether it’s a thoughtfully designed interior, couture fashion shoot, art exhibition or her own outfit, Mitch brings her unconventional vision, unique eye, and personal edge to every aspect of her work.
